Is there any reason to avoid 5G routers over a fixed, more expensive and slower landline broadband connection? I’m thinking for health reasons? Thanks in advance.

no health issues. people go the 5G way due to cost (cheap unlimited deals) and the speed you will get with mobile carriers (location dependent tho) is significantly faster compared to cheap broadband alternatives (30-60mbs in most cases). gigabit speed costs a lot on broadband and availability is limited UK-wide too.

From reading reviews on amazon, common problem with sim card slot and ee no longer works.

I have this. Very small but very good speeds. The UI is a bit dated but you can use your phone app to control things.

Currently using a ZTE MC801A for about 18+ months now into a 2 year contract. Overall its been great, with the exception of very poor bufferbloat if do stuff like torrent or some game updating tools that also slow the network to be unusable.

As contract due to come to an end soonish, tempting to get one of these, and then buy seperate sim with Three which think is about £12 a month nowadays for unlimited data, rather than renewing contract, in order to higher than gigabit ports.....cost more over the first 2yrs but cheaper after then

I am also on three unlimited. currently using an Asus router with the sim but too lazy to switch over to the Huawei LTE I just bought for £38 three days ago.

Great price these have always been very expensive. Using mine with a mobile prepay plan in on three network in Ireland for over a year now. €15 a month for unlimited data and speed about 300mbs down. I could get higher speeds if I got an external aerial, based on tests I did in the attic...I am tempted but also thinking "the speed I have is more than enough for what I need".

    This came with SMARTY apn

Does anyone knows the Three apn and setup?

Our resident 5G Three advisor Kodabear is right

The Zyxel is faster than this unit.

But I hope this ZTE modem will be more stable than Zyxel.

    Time will tell

insert your sim, it should be able to automatically update the apn. if it doesn't, check the apn through your mobile phone settings or call three cs
