I'd rather have the coked up version
Really good price @Desi.Guy

Had the larger version of this phone that I was planning on keeping.. Ended up selling it on, was the worst phone I ever had.

Battery was poor, the phone turned off when it got down to 25%.

Then it took around I think an hour to boot back up.

The camera was sub par, speakers were tinny, it echoed on a call, the navigation buttons were tiny and too close together and so easy to hit whilst typing.

APART FROM THAT CARP, IT WAS GREAT
Speakers were tiny on Axon 7? You might have bad unit..I have seen that most reviewers rank Axon 7 or mini 7 among the best mobile speaker available in market
I never used axon 7 but agree that probably battery or camera might be the weakest link of axon 7 sibling but its the case of every midrange budget phone ...i actually got this for music lover who dont care much about camera ..hopefully they satisfy with it

I'm guessing ZTE are now going to be offered up at "fire sale" prices after....you know what.

For what it's worth, I'm very happy with my "big brother" Axon 7 (which is a bit different to the Mini, if you're not aware). The lack of light-up capacitive buttons (which they changed at the very last minute after receiving pre-release feedback) are annoying but muscle memory gets used to them.

The stereo speakers, DAC/3.5mm jack were essential for me in a new phone.

Even the camera is decent (maybe depends what app you use/how you tweak manual settings) but I had a Samsung Note 4 before this one and I don't feel it's a backward step.

*I'm talking about the original Axon 7 - though, I would have bought this for my mum - dammit, they're OOS!

I wish ZTE bring Axon 8 with some improvement in battery and camera but same great audio quality

Unless ZTE are able to appeal or compromise with the US after the recent spanking they got - they're basically finished as an Android phone manufacturer. They can't even use Qualcomm chips, or Google Play (not actually happening just yet, but it's in the post, allegedly) though we just have to see how it "plays" (ha) out.

All ZTE support download links have recently been removed (even the one I sent a HUKDer by PM the other night). Redditors in the US are saying their warranty claims are stalled.

Edit: The link of the news item above, from yesterday, suggests ZTE is negotiating:

*ZTE said in a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that it ‘is making active communications with relevant parties and seeking a solution’
*An analyst note argues that the U.S. may be open to reaching a new settlement, as ZTE’s plea agreement violation was ‘minor’

I have mainly FLACs on my phone, but of course I watch the odd Youtube video and other shizzle. I must admit I'm on headphones 99% of the time, so I've had another listen with my "naked" (ooer) phone.

At a guess it might be your Dolby settings (?). I have Settings>Sounds>DOLBY ATMOS off by default.

Or your unit may have been faulty. Hard to say as I'm guessing you can't do a side-by-side comparison.

Depends whether you think doing your own official ZTE updates and Google Play functionality are important to you.

I know you can get apps *cough* elsewhere but not everyone wants to, or knows how to. Same applies to ROMs, which bring their own set of problems.

As mentioned in my earlier post, seems ZTE and the US sanctions ban's implications haven't been set in stone yet. I was able to view the entire article from that link earlier, and can't see it now - think you can only view articles once.

Another article, dated 20th April, from caixin dot com has a handy timeline illustration of the ZTE Sanctions saga, for anyone who cares 33690848-ZdtHV.jpg

The Stock Recovery link doesn't work (obviously you choose the EU model options).

All the official ZTE support downloads have been wiped, will have to look around and see if any other Redditors/xda members are discussing it.

Edit: From here Try this one

Build number: "ZTE B2017GV1.2.0B14"
Kernel Version: 3.10.84

Both the Axon 7 and Axon 7 Mini were on 7.1.1 from the official ZTE website - till recently! Oreo is out there for the Axon 7, unofficially, at least, and the Lineage OS version is "ready to go" - not sure about the Mini.

Spec for spec, feature for feature the Axon 7 was a better device than the OP3, it waa also considered the best for Audio in 2016.

I am not fond of stock ROM so i will defintely flash TWRP and flalsh custom ROM befre giving it to my cousin

European model of axon 7 mini can get update to 7.1.1 without downlaoding anything from XDA

You "Liked" your own post? The praise you quoted from me was a reply to to Mrswitch's comments about the Axon 7, which is a bit different to the Mini - which I have no experience of, other than Youtube/online reviews.

And the ebay seller is selling the Axon Mini as "New: Other" - not Grade B.

Yeah I love it. You don’t? I just liked it twice(angel)

OP say this is a Grade B in the title as well as in the description, which seems to be carefully ignored by you.

“Supplied inspected, cleaned & tested to be in full working order by our in-house Tech Team. This item is in very good condition. May have minor marks or scratches nothing damaged.”

Your posts don't make much sense, so they're hard to understand.

I didn't actually see the OP's first post, so I've made a mistake (bear in mind I'm looking at the ebay listing after they Sold Out). Blame it on multitasking

The ebay listing implies otherwise (says New - Other), and doesn't mention Grade B anywhere, which is what I based my comment on.

P.S. still waiting for you to make a big connection on the ZTE’s “fire sale”<3 - what does that even mean?! My jokey comment about a ZTE "fire sale" is about the US Sanctions, and the implications thereof.

Gosh Darn It.
Might be worth watching, a New/Other Axon 7 Mini appeared earlier on this listing - it was £99.99 though (still decent, I think - and no hassle with China post!).

Edit: You can keep an eye on the listing updates here - actually looks as though there's been five of them so far today!..though there's only been 1 additional one sold, so maybe I'm confused. Worth watching, anyway.

Three available peeps! ebay.co.uk/itm…612

1 Grey, Grade C £59.99 or £99.99 New - Other
1 Silver, Grade B £79.99

Edit: By the way, said this on the Axon 7 thread, though I read this on Reddit originally - seems ZTE are teaming up with Mediatek (as they can't use Qualcomm chips - unsure the US ban will be overturned, it's not looking likely at this point) reuters.com/art…09Y

To anyone interested - got a New - Other Axon 7 Mini today (ordered 4th May - think the Bank Holiday slowed things down somewhat) - this is what arrived. Slightly disappointed it's not genuine ZTE packaging etc (it's a gift), but the AC Adapter, and phone, are cellophaned (official ZTE Adapters are hard to source - I know because I tried contacting ZTE myself asking about one, before Xmas, and they ignored me!).

Got one from ebay for myself, though (thanks to whoever told me about it on the Axon 7 thread, I'd need to hunt for their name).

The Axon 7 Mini is QuickCharge 2.0, the Axon 7 is QC 3.0 - seems this seller supplies the very same STC-A5930A-B charger I have.

Haven't powered it on, yet.

Not really moaning, I'm happy It has a USB-C cable in the box as well, just realised (it's white though it looks a bit different to the one I have with my "big brother" Axon 7) - hopefully it's safe, maybe it's a ZTE one? Not sure. Suppose I could try zapping the QR code*.

A brand new Axon 7 Mini also comes with a Clear TPU case in the box - this doesn't - so I'll have to buy a case as well, bah. Got 2 x tempered glass protectors coming from Aliexpress (was £1.25 at the time), though.33768999-aS3iU.jpgEdit: Went for this 92p (1p off with the app!) Axon 7 Mini TPU Case.

It's for my mum. She's a rather light user of phones, a bit of Facebook and phone calling, that's about it.

She'll be moving on from a Motorola G3 (8GB) so hopefully it'll be an improvement. Even though she doesn't have many apps, she's been complaining about storage warnings - which happens over time with Android anyway.
I have the latest Axon 7 Mini firmware (I anticipated ZTE imploding and wiping all their download links, as I saw the warnings on Reddit) - I'll bung it on OneDrive or wherever if anyone wants it

Edit: Actually, there's instructions how to update to 7.1.1 on this thread! (Oops, I see the OP has mentioned it already). Geez, the 7.1.1 update seems to keep stopping at 24%. Tried doing it via Recovery (hold down Power + Volume Up for a few seconds), and on the SD card, will keep at it.

And I've realised there's no SIM Tool in the box either - no problem as I have one already, may be a pain for some purchasers.

Another Edit: Doing it in sequence (via Recovery, with the .zip file in the root folder. The .zip files are in three separate parts) seems to be working, phew.
