Hub for people or businesses that need a lot of connectivity.
This will be overkill for a lot of people but with more and more items becoming network ready like tvs, printers, game consoles etc you may want to look at this.
Cheapest I've seen elsewhere is ebay £45 and other shops £57.
I got free delivery but this may not apply to some people.

This is great for those who use a lot of 10/100-only speed devices such as IP cameras, and there are 1000Base-T ports for uplinking to a gigabit network. It's also quiet - no fans!

For connecting PCs you really should be using a gigabyte network these days.
Might be ok for VOIP phones etc, but even then your much better with a decent PoE switch

It really depends what devices you're connecting to the network, I've done a quick count around my house and I've got 1 server, 4 laptops and a NAS capable of gigabit speeds, all the other devices are either wireless or 10/100, but only the server and NAS are generally used, wired to the network, in a moderately congested WiFi network even with the fastest WiFi speeds, you may find it's actually not fast enough to utilise gigabit.

That said, if you move a lot of data around, gigabit really helps and I personally would rather have fewer gigabit ports and get a secondhand 10/100 to make up the numbers for those devices not capable of benefiting.

Although gigabit is faster the devices we attach work fine. Streaming hd video even 4k, browsing, downloading, printing, cams etc. Gigabit costs at least 3 times the price (for managed) and would hav very little noticeable benefit. This does have some gigabit for main connections. I know 24 seems excessive but a lot of things come network ready so if you are thinking of buying a switch buying a bigger than you expect switch might save upgrading later on,
As a guide I have 2 external wifi switches, 2 play stations, 2 WD boxes, 2 printer, 4 other computers, 2 cams that need to be connected, we use all this for a home business. We don't have any smart TVs yet but one day we will. Got a security system again to connect when I have the time I know it's wifi but it may be cable as well.
