02 Home Phone Anytime Calls and 'The Works' Home broadband Only £13.50 per month

My old O2 broadband deal was about to expire this month. Called up O2 retentions and they gave me the anytime calls home phone package AND 'the works' home broadband for only £13.50 per month for a year. To me this is a very good deal, been with O2 for 2 years and their broadband service has been outstanding.

Shopping around the other major companies and struggled to find anyone who offered anything below £20 for the same product.

I know there will be people who knock this deal but for people who are looking for a cheap phone/broadband package this is pretty good.

Just say that someone on the internet was offered this deal and they should offer it to you. Good luck

I understand that the new contracts have a download limit to them unlike old contracts.
Please check. I believe it is advisable to stick to the old contracts if you have them - which are unlimited.

They are scrapping all of the older contracts. They are going to offer old contract customers the new package or no penalty contract get outs. At least that is what I was told. There is a download limit but its stupidly high.

They lied, because ppl have reported being offered a discount for staying on the old packages for a further 12 months. They only offer this after failing to sell you on the new packages. Sounds like your guy was a bit uninformed or a bullsh***er.

Just fyi for anyone decided on a similar deal.

Download cap on the works is 250gb. Not sure I would call that "stupidly high". It is plenty for a lot of people but if you are a heavy downloader or stream a lot of video I think you could hit it.

All the new packages also have Traffic Shaping - but it not too restrictive on the top package.

You can only get O2 phone on the new packages - which might make the switch better for some - but if you don't want o2 home phone and don't have an o2 mobile discount then the Be packages (same network) can work out a touch cheaper than the old legacy packs with the new prices.

We're on the old O2 package with unlimited d/l. On Saturday we called up to ask about home phone and was told we could only join up if we move onto a new bb package with limited d/l. If you breach the limit 3 times, your contract is terminated.
We do not have a tv, so use bbci/ catchup tv every day, download lots so would hit the limit.

I got the same deal - well, mine was £12.50 - but only after they attempted to mis-sell me 'The All Rounder' package.

There is traffic shaping for The Works as well - 12-12 weekends and 4-12 weekdays for p2p use - found a workaround by using protocol encryption on my torrent client.

If you can manage to get the deal like OP - it can work out not too bad.

£12.50 for anytime calls, line rental, 20mb broadband with 250gb limit is a deal.

    Does this include line rental?
