    10 reasons why pixmania suck

    Ok i ordered a samsung 37 r88 hdtv from them 2 weeks this sunday
    I paid £503.47 + £20 odd postage miuns a £15 voucher they had on their site
    So thats a total of £523.47
    Then exactly 16hours later the tv price drops to £490.97
    So i contact them and they refuse to reinburse the rest

    So
    1.

    Rubbish Customer Service

    Next im reading on the net that i will be getting a euro plug as with most tvs from pixmania (this is yet to be found by me but if its true im peed off)

    2. Misinforming Customers

    Having constantly bombarding them with emails regarding when my tv will be dispatched with tis status still pending and it been over 1.5 weeks since order i get a message saying
    Oh sorry the tv is now out of stock

    3. Rubbish stock control

    Then i get email the next day saying that the tv is now back instock and that it will be delivered on thursday between 7.15am and 12.15pm AS WELL as getting a voice mail saying my tv will be delivered on sunday

    So re-arranged my shifts on thurs so i would be in to get the tv if it came..........well it didnt.. again no reply from customer services

    4. Stupid delivery system

    So my tv is now coming tomorrow from 2.15 to 6.15pm - 2 weeks delivery exactly besides i paid £20 for it to be delivered within 3-5 days and now it might come with a european plug and i could have got it £13 cheaper if id ordered it 1 day later

    I know i pay £20 for delivery and it says it will be delivered within 3-5 days if instock which it was when i ordered it - i wasnt notified until 3 days ago that it was out of stock

    Pix mania are such a bad company to use, they get slammed on loads of fourms

    I hate it when transactions don't go swimmingly, especially if I bought a TV, which they then decide to drop the price of, even before it arrives! If you've still got the email stating that it would be arriving on Thursday, I'd call up and say that your unhappy with the service, had to take a day off work e.t.c, e.t.c. and request they reduce the price to the advertised price as a sign of good gesture. If still no luck, and your not happy with the TV when it arrives, check their return policy and complain about the plug adaptor and send it back (if you think you could find a better price elsewhere).

    Why Pixmania suck - I bought a hard drive off them on ebay, after 5 days they finally decided to package it up and send it. After a week i got a tracking number which said that it had been delivered (i didnt recieve it) and said it had been delivered to "MOD PO" so i emailed them... 3 times, only to get a reply saying their shipping department would be in touch.. waited 5 days... nothing so i emailed them another few times (got no response).

    Had to put in a paypal dispute to which they replied "package is at Post office", so i emailed them to tell me kindly which one as we have about 3 post offices near to me, didnt get a reply so paypal refunded me the money

    I take it they've already charged you for it?

    And people think that just because they are owned by DSG they are part of Dixons. They are not. They are very much a French company and you wont get the protection under SOGA you would have otherwise got by buying from a UK company.

    You should have cancelled as soon as you realised. You're entitled to a cooling off period anyway as per distance selling regulations.

    If they refuse to refund you, get in touch with the bank and ask them to charge it back to the retailer. You get your money, retailer gets hassle. If you're lucky, the TV will be on a van with your name on it too lol.

    The internet is still a grey area and you would have thought they had enough time to sort this out! But a French retailer would not be treated the same as a UK retailer. We cant impose our laws to the French. (Though it wouldnt be a bad idea!):whistling:

    Assuming it was ordered by CC, yes, they are jointly liable. However, even they are trying it on for internet orders from overseas.

    You have to ask yourself if its worth the potential hassle. I would never use Pixmania and constantly warn of the pitfalls. If it saved lots of money, then fair enough. But in this case it didnt.

    However your second comment about the CC is valid. However, have you tried getting money back in this type of situation? They aint that friendly when it comes to refunds and will certainly drag their heels.

    Adding my vote to these!

    I am sure there is some EU-wide equivalent to the Sale Of Goods Act but don't know what the EU equivalent is to the Small Claims Court that you could threaten them with.

    As you can slag people off for being French and it's allowed...........does that mean you can now have a pop at all Asians for being asian???

    I quite often see "Indian" call centres being slagged off. I don't like to see it.

    I think that people having a go at the French is just a bit of fun, but only they know if this is the case. The same goes for having a 'Go' at the Scots etc.

    ordered my mp3 player off them had no problems at all.

    No its not nice taking a pop at the "indian" call centres i think more the pop is at how stupid these companies are trying to save money, by employing ones that are rarely good with english and dont know what your taking about, because of the language barrier it makes it all the more harder and people get fustrated.
    We would be just as fustrated if we got a english call centre with people who dont have a clue what they are talking about as well, my view for the day lol

    Apart from being French you could apply those reasons to most companies not just pixmania.

    big up the call centre massive! its currently where i am now...luckily i am not in india and i do know what im talking about! :P so give me a call we have departments in india though and lets just say "complaints" and "nightmare" come to mind :P

    I really dislike Pixmania and try to warn people of potential problems - if there was a brilliant deal I would buy from them but at least I'd know the risk I was taking.

    By far their worst fault is they do not make it clear they are in France, that goods come with a continental power lead and instructions are typically in French.

    I would have cancelled but i couldnt because they say on the website that you can only be refunded if the item is rejected upon delivery andthen they have to get it back and do all the paper work to get the refund
    So looking at like 3 weeks for a refund

    Tell me any other shop that would refund you the difference. Think about it there is only a split second between price changes, some one always suffers.

    You must have been happy with the price when you ordered it, if so nothing has change has it, apart from your thoughts

    His thoughts have changed because he now realises he has bought from a bad company.

    If it had been a British company, under consumer law, they would have had to honour the cancellation. They refused to do so. That highlights precisely why its not a good idea to use this French company and use a UK one instead. I suppose I am now gonna be labelled racist now for saying that.

    they are crooks how can you charge to pickup goods thats too much and service dont get me started simply the worst on the net. they say its in stock and when u ring and ask wheres your order they dont care and for refunds das another story. I HIGHLY RECOMEND dont use Pixmania will waste a lot of your time and you will have stress of trying to get your money back not worth it. there so bad i think they should be banned.

    Since the 'bloody foreign call centres' conversations have cropped up around work, i've been confused. I was under the impression that all call centres i'd ever phoned were rubbish and necer answered my questions, kept me waiting for hours, etc. They've just got Brummie accents now.
