19" wide monitor

I'm planning to buy a 19" wide monitor, thinking of Advent TS902W from PCworld £130. ]Link

Has anyone tried this monitor.. is it good?
ANY better value for money deals around..not planning to spend more than £150.

Thanks

Hi placebo..do you want a monitor with a DVI connection??

There are loads out there in your price range but some only have a VGA connection.

I will need a VGA connection as i'm planning to hook it to my laptop and i already have a mini-DVI to VGA adaptor.

Thanks

Take a look at this one..probably better than the Advent from PC world.

I was almost going to get the Xerox but need a DVI connection on it really.

I'm in the situation of waiting and waiting for a good deal on one in the £130 range with a DVI. :-(

Can i ask you is DVI better than VGA? i don't really know much about these, all i know is that i have an adaptor for VGA, but if DVI is better i might consider buying a monitor with DVI and getting a new adaptor.

DVI is better than VGA. If you have a DVI output on your graphics card, it makes sense to use it. Using a converter seems a futile process, unless you're not overly bothered about the quality and want to save a handful or pounds.

Useful topic I guess - forums.techpowerup.com/arc…tml

Also, if you buy a monitor with DVI and have a graphics card with DVI... you won't need a convertor, you'll need a DVI cable.

Thanks for the explanation, my laptop has a mini-DVI port so i think all i'll need is a mini-DVI to DVI adaptor. I think i'll go for a DVI monitor since it's better than VGA.

Any recommended offers?

I actually own one of these branded as GNR from microdirect on special offer during one of thier 180 minute bargains

£146 inc p+p at the time.

Good, cheap, no dead pixels on mines, nothing special just a cheap good looking 19" widescreen with DVI. Also had to buy a DVI cable from ebay, didn't notice a difference at all. Hope this helps

]This one seems like a good buy from microdirect but is out of stock. Does anyone know if it's available somewhere else as i couldn't find it on other online shops.

This one had really good reviews from members on here...it may be cheaper elsewhere...it was very cheap on Amazon but they then upped the price ...but worth checking as it may be cheaper with the free postage.
