    Arent they all X)

£1750 is pushing it. No deal.

I've been with HSBC a long time, I've been happy with the service etc. It disappoints me to see offers like this for new customers but nothing to reward loyalty. I suppose it's the same with everything.

Maybe, never used them but for a free £150 I'd consider putting up with them, doesn't say they have to be your main account afterall so handy for anyone with a donor account they don't mind losing....

    very tempting.

    That's nothing in London.

I used to bank with hsbc and i found them to be one of the best banks for customer service and financial facilities. Unless they have gone downhill since i used them, they were fine.

I dont fancy moving banks for cash incentives as real hassle for me. But good offer for those that qualify.

Could you not just transfer multiple amounts to reach the £1,750?

Yes. These accounts means you have to pay in that amount in the month. It doesnt have to be one payment. I have one with lloyds which is 1500 and another with halifax which is 750 and as long as you total for month of that amount, you will be fine.

You will need at least 2 direct debits with these sort of offers i often find.

Interesting, I do this with TSB (like you do with Lloyds) but making sure a similar process could be followed with HSBC.

    Might give this a shot.

I'm with first direct they are good but considering this

They tend to be the same. You can even move money around, like pay it in then move it out then pay it in again, if you have the patience. The amount is not a net after payments out, just payment in. Unless the offer states the amount has to be salary or that you must earn a certain salary.

I have bank accounts which requires a minimum salary but i cant remember which one as i have three. It may be my natwest one or the lloyds one.

First direct and hsbc are the same bank group. My OH banks with first direct and i find they are inferior to hsbc but they answer the phone quickly as they started out as phone banking.

yes phone banking, i was about to cancel and within 10 seconds i was speakng to someone one, so stayed

i probably won;t get payment if you join the same banking group right?

you will still qualify as they belong to the same group but different business entities so there may no exclusion between them. i don't know what hsbc phone service is like as i never called them when i banked with them. i always used online banking or go into branch.

My mate lives in the smallest 2 bedroom flat you have ever seen and his rent is £1160 ppm. As someone else has commented in this thread, it's nothing in London. Just a shame the employers would realise that when working out wages.
