    Personally I always buy iiyama:

    and here's why:
they give a 3yr on-site warranty as standard and have fantastic service and support.
That said I doubt you'd need their support as I have only ever known one iiyama monitor to fail: It was owned by a friend of mine and was a good 6 months past the end of its already pretty generous (for the sector, at the time) 3yr warranty (12months was standard for monitors, although many are starting to do 3yrs now but usually it's a return to base not on-site). So he phoned them asking for it to be repaired and fully expected a hefty bill for parts, labour etc. to have it fixed. They sent someone to look at it and they took it away, but they didn't repair it. Instead they sent him a brand new one via next day delivery completely free of charge, not only that but it wasn't even the same model they sent, they gave him the brand new model. So he got the latest model complete with a new 3yr warranty despite his monitor failing 6months outside its original warranty - now that's service - and that's why I always buy iiyama, even though they cost a little more than most.

    Thanks folks

Personally i would buy the 226BW from PC World for £230 as it seems it is one of the best 22" monitors out there at the moment.

except that they make them with 3 different panels in, one of which (the one all the reviewers got) is great. i didn't get that one, and i'm just about to take mine back. it's not _awful_, but it's not very good!

I was waiting for the 22" one off play.com since the very first post of it on hot deals for £200 in april. I decided to give up and got 2 samsung 226bw monitors from pc world, one for me and one for my dad. One of them is perfect and the other has 1 dead pixel. Samsung say you have to have at least 17 before they replace it and pw world were having non of it.

Can someone tell me about the panel info please?

The monitor got reviewed before release with type A panel or somehting.

Rave reviews, everyones been waiting for this monitor. People then go and buy it and its turned out samsung have three different plants producing the panels. And basically unless you have this one type of panel then your monitors crap ad not been worth the big wait for.

That's what I've picked up from reading some forums. Obviously then you end up with very bias comments...

i googled it and in most forums they say check the sticker att he back, if you have an a you have the best 22" monitor available. You can also set the brightness to 0 and the contrast to 0, hold source for 5 seconds and the service menu appears. After checking the back I can reveal mine is an A because of the A symbol so I have got a great monitor. To confirm this I did the service menu trick and this was also showing the code for an A spec panel.
