3 for 2 Marks & Spencer School Clothes

I've just put my order in for next years school clothes at Marks and Spencer and thought I would pass on this bit of advice.

At first I put my whole order through at £92, after the 3 for 2 discounts it brought the total down by £14 to £78. As it took the cheapest items off 3 x £3 and 1 x £5.

I then started putting the order through again in sections (total 4 orders), braking the orders down allowed me to put the £12 items through as 1 order, the £6/£5 items through as one order, the £4 items, and finally the £3 items. This gave a total of £29.75 saving, an extra £15.75 on the whole order.

Using the voucher code for free delivery SCHOOL09 meant the amount of orders placed didn't matter as it didn't incur further delivery charges.

So put your orders through seperately peeps and save!!!

Hi can you forgive my ignorance - but how do you put it through as 4 different orders on the same order?

I might need an idiots guide to shopping on line at M&S!

Also

People don't forget that M&S school clothes often come up VERY small. My kids are small and still clothes for their own age are too small for them! So I order 2 ages above at least for them to grow into! I will probably do the white polo tops as 3 years above for next year!

They mean put 4 totally separate orders in

The discount code (SCHOOL09) gets you free delivery, so it wont cost you any more to place 4 orders rather than one.

e.g. Order one
£12 item
£12 item
£12 item
Total = £24 (1 free - free delivery)

Order two

£6 item
£6 item
£5 item
Total = £12 (1 free - free delivery)

Order three
£4 item
£4 item
£4 item
Total = £8 (1 free - free delivery)

Order four
£3 item
£3 item
£3 item
Total = £6 (1 free - free delivery)

Total of all 4 orders would be £50, but if you put it all through together then they take the cheapest items off, meaning the total of the whole order would be £62 because the £3 items and 1 £4 item would have been taken off. Looks like I am a bit off with the exact numbers, but hope that explains it a bit more

Thanks for this :thumbsup: Next year's uniform all ordered, although I didn't know about the sizing issue so may need to send it back to swap it all for bigger sizes. Even without the 3 for 2 I was very surprised by how cheap their uniform is. I didn't expect it to be competetive with Asda and Tesco prices. I only paid £46 for 27 items of uniform and what with no delivery charge too I'm very happy :-D

Rep for saving me a small fortune :thumbsup:
