3% instant return from Morrisons inc petrol plus credit card to instant £££

Not sure if this is a best buy or a vucher but its the best legal scam I have come accross for yonks:

Morrisons let you spend £100 if you buy £97 of saver stamps which is 30 times the annual return on a First Direct ISA.. As you can buy and spend in November thats a huge APR %.

Now you can use these against a tank of petrol - so thats a £2 quid off a fill up on average for me - so it not just for Turkeys...

Lastly they tear of a page at a time- so in my case the last page cost me £24, if I buy a crunchie bar I get £26 (inc the two free £1 tokens) back in cash, less the price of the crunchie.

Thinking about it, buy 4 crunchies in 4 visits using each tear-off page and you can turn £97 from your credit card into £99 odd in cash in few minutes - and then go buy some more saver stamps!

That's it folks - be gentle

I guess there are other similar Xmas savings schemes to exploit.

so - .... you spend £97 on saving stamps using your credit card. and get £100 cashback?
OR - you spend £97 on saving stamps which turns into £100 to spend so in effect you are only gaining £3 ??

Only 3 pound? I've seen people on here sacrifice their children for less of a saving!

Doesnt seem worth it. Would prob spend the £3 on petrol getting to morrisons and back.

Funny how we are so eager to knock certain savings and praise others.

This is equivelent to around 4p a litre off fuel which considering Morrison's is one of the cheapest anyway leads to a good deal.

If it had been posted as 4p off every litre of fuel at Morrisons it would have got some heat.

£3 is £3, free money if you were spending it there anyway.

shell give you 2p off the first 25 litres of fuel if you spend £5 in the shop. So you have to spend an extra £5 that you weren't intending on doing to get 50p off your fuel bill!!! wow don't all rush at once !

Who came up with this cunning plan? Baldrick? So you have a trip to Morrisons spend time queueing for stamps. Then stick them in book and go queue four times for 4 crunchies all for 2 quid? Better of getting a job you can earn 2pound far easier

So you earn your hard cash and invest it for a year to get 0.2% interest from your bank and criticize a 3% return in under 5 minutes - Einstein lives....

This is a 3% return in one day, so technically 365 x 3% for APR-spending on petrol makes this deal so much better
Edited by: "stphnstevey" 29th Nov 2011

It's 3% return on your money if redeeming in November or December.

But for me it's free cash if you need it for something where you can't/don't want to use your credit card. It's akin to using your credit card at a cash machine but without the charge. Sounds good to me!

been a member for 45 minutes and instantly looks up a 3 yr old deal ??

    Wow what a welcoming forum!

Don't Morrison's still do saver stamps? Just because a thread is old doesn't mean it's no longer relevant.

If it's a issue, old threads should be locked.

    1. Why on earth have you replied to my comment well over a month later?

    2. When someone comments in a thread, it goes to the top of the 'Discussed' page, that's how I became aware of this thread. I wasn't 'monitoring' it. Maybe you should learn how this forum works before making such stupid comments in future.

I don't live in an asylum, and my life is fine, it's definitely not dull. And if your life is so great, then why do you keep replying to my comments? Just ignore them, and carry on with your perfect life then. (_;)

this scheme was re-recommended in yesterday's sun newspaper.

save up to three per cent on the cost of your christmas shop.

pick up a morrisons saver stamps card at your local branch and buy stamps to make great savings.

buy £49 of stamps and you will receive £1 free.

spend the stamps this month or next month.

limit of five cards per household.
