Well if he takes home £120 you will both be right

    depends on the speed...

    I got £60 fine and 3 points for doing 43 in a 40 limit.

Agree, all depends on the speed and the area.

If he was caught doing 31 in a 30 area, for example, then it's 3 points & £60
On the other hand if it was 90+ on the motorway then it's completely different.

You have to tell them about it .....I think it went up about a tenner, no more than twenty for sure.

Thanks, how do you get them removed then?:?

I thought that there was a 10% discrepancy level on the speed limit due to the errors of calibration in the speedometer and speed camera itself. I read somewhere that you could dispute the speed due to the 5% error in each piece of equipment. (the camera and the speedometer)

The whole process is explained here i think

also i think there is a fee

3 points will have very little effect, but more than likely none at all on your insurance. It does depend on your insurance company though. I worked at Norwich Union for a few years and 3 points made no difference what so ever on any policy!

so have you actually saved more than 60 through this new quote and quidco

If your points are expired you can get them off your licence for free, but you have to move house to do it. Bit of a hassle really.:whistling:

we hired a van to collect something and hubby was speeding past a camera, i said to him about the camera, but too late picture taken.
i took the 3 points & £ 60 fine for him!!! as they only took the rear of the van.
neither of us had any points on our licience previously!
i don't think i agreed to that in our marriage vows though!:giggle:
must get round to changing my title name.

on your licence for 3 years but you can only have the points removed after 4 years. Some insurance company's take them in to account others don't. Also if he was doing over 100 on motorway its an automatic ban for 12 months

or renew your licence because you have lost it:whistling:

Thought you had to pay for it if you lost it?

Put out a shout for 'DogCop' on here.

He's a dog handler with Somerset police, and should be able to give you the facts.
