    32gb ssd laptops

How much are you actually left with after windows is installed? My sister is looking for her kids to use for homework etc and I'm leaning towards a Chromebook.

    Thoughts?

AFAIK Windows 10 requires 16 GB of space before removal of any bloatware.

It varies from system to system, but after a clean install of Win10 x86, you should have around 14GB left over, give or take a gig.

    I'd recommend a 64gb
After W10 you'll be wanting to install other programs and games

I've got an Acer Revo with 32gb and I don't have any big software like Microsoft Office or Adobe or similar but I'm having to install some programs onto an SD card just to give that extra space for the occasional download of movie or similar. I've got about 5gb free on the 32gb currently

ssd are getting cheaper now, get yourself 64gb

I didn't think Chromebooks came with Windows
You know a copy of Windows 10 will set you back £60+ right?

It will probably be cheaper just to get a laptop with Windows preinstalled and it will most likely be better spec too.
