If you can stretch another £100 then id go for the Toshiba 37C3030DB + Toshiba SD270 DVD for £609.99 from SoundandVision. 37" name brand LCDs are gonna start around this price atm... other than that you can pick up some other not so named brands for cheaper. Personally id go for the Tosh over any of the cheaper unnamed brands as it has had some excellent reviews and is supposed to be a very good tv. I think some of the peeps on here got one from ED not so long ago and were dead impressed.

So its your choice... pay that little bit extra for quality or go for a cheaper brand, which are still good at what they do dont get me wrong, its just that i know which one id rather have and thats my opinion ;-)

PS i think John Lewis still pricematch S&V, so may be worth going through them for the 5 year guarantee.

thank for the reply, i guess ill look around the 600 mark then.

is this the same set : pixmania.co.uk/uk/…tml

says TOSHIBA 37C3030D instead of TOSHIBA 37C3030DB, is there a difference ?

Looks the same... tbh i havent any idea if there is a difference lol. BUT beware about where you buy it from. Pmania are supposed to be awful... no ill rephrase... absolutely c**p customer service and support. I think (may be wrong) they are based in France???. So if you have to send anything back... maybe completely wrong ??

I used pixmania last year, and would never go near them again. Its great if you are happy with the goods, however if you have a problem and need to return the goods, even under the distance selling laws, you are required to pay postage and insurance to get the goods returned back to France. For a HDD recorder this would have cost around £60 one way. God knows how much a 37" TV would cost
