I think it's an ongoing benefit that's been going on for some time (posted here). I remember claiming it some time back, before the one I've linked previously.

Still, I've still got my 40% off hotels benefit to excite me

I remember that benefit being posted but unfortunately I wasn't eligible then. It is possible that the offer ended, restarted and I'm now eligible or I was randomly added to the "Google One VIP list" (edited)

Actually, looking at my benefits history, I redeemed it on 20th March this year.
