4 Gang Surge Protected Extension Cable

Found 9th Sep 2008
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it is safe to plug in a 4 gang non-surge protected extension cable into a 4 gang surge protected extension cable.

Would this make a 7 gang surge protected one ?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

You are adviced by electricians not to do it. I suppose you could overload the first cable. I do this myself and have had no problems. It might be wise to use a cut out switch if you are worried.

I think it all depends how many amps each device you plug in draws off the mains?

I'm sure someone will be along soon to explain why I think that or tell me I've made it up though!
