    50" 1080P LCD/PLASMA WANTED

    I have just sold my 42" plasma and i'm looking for a 50" 1080p plasma with a budget of £1000, is there any chance of getting one for that price???

    Hi all, I have decided to just go for a normal 1080i 50" plasma as i've looked and looked and the 1080p ones are costing too much cash.

    I was reading somewhere that 1080p is not needed for most people and just a waste of money because most people are just watching normal tv or normal sky tv which even sky hd only goes up to 1080i, and people wont see the full benefit of 1080p till some years to come, is this all true and would i just be better off just going for a 1080i plasma as i have only got sky tv and will not pay them £10 per month for sky hd for a few **** channels they have just now unless all of the sky channels were hd then i would be happy to pay for a new box plus £10 a month.

    any advice would be great plus any good prices on 50" plasmas would be great also. thanks

    Anybody else know of any good deals going around?

    Have a look on Empiredirect's web site. They have a couple of 50in (LG) Tv's for under a £1000. Don't know much about specs, but you can search on the AV forum for any information regarding that.

    i would go go for the 50px70b from amazon (not marketplace) for £1000.01, we just got one last week for a mate of mine. Dont bother with LG or Samsung, u wont be happy with the picture IMHO.

    Or u can buy it for £1299 fro JL with 5 year warranty

    New Panasonics coming out in the spring so expect prices to fall further if you can hold 2-3 months

    Cantilever stand for £70 or so upwards then u wont need a pedestal or wall mount (eg)
