    any others???

You won't get a 1TB portable external hard drive at that price, in fact you'll struggle to find one at twice that price. All you'll get is the desktop versions like busfan001 linked to which are significantly heavier (1kg instead of 200g) and require a mains plug with transformer instead of being USB powered like the portable ones.

You'll just be able to squeeze in a 500GB portable one at £60 such as this Iomega at ebuyer: ebuyer.com/pro…798

i dont need it to be lightweight - he's only going to move it from his pc to his tv

hmm thanks for telling me about the power source thing - didnt know u cud get ones that had to use mains powering.

if you reserve the iomega 500gb hard drive and then go to the leeds city center branch you can get it for 39.60

I Bought The seagate 1TB drive a couple of months ago

Not too impressed with the performance

I know it was cheap @ 59 quid delivered, but you still want them to "do what they say on the tin"

Data rate is quite slow. I have another old IDE product and it surprisingly is about twice as fast on the same PC. This is the one I have got..cheaper at Maplin maplin.co.uk/Mod…4m2

anyway I just realise the poster wanted a portable one. The one you have suggested is ok, 2 quid cheaper on Amazon, but you have to wait.Pcword genearlly have in stock

This looks a good price ebuyer.com/pro…798

I'd be very surprised at that, all these hard drives are far faster than the limiting factor, the USB connection except when transferring lots of small files.

I actually think it may be faulty.
my usb 2.5" portable device is quicker, so i think that is telling me something
