Hi all, I've seen some pretty goods deals here on contract phones (thanks for them). Some of the deals include unlimited or 500MB of mobile internet.

I have no idea how much 500MB mobile internet. What would be the minimum which I would need to access news websites, check emails, hotukdeals, etc?

I do not want to watch online videos or pictures.

thanks

Yes on a standard phone that will be enough. You may have to be a little careful with smartphone use.

If it's a Vodafone tariff your looking at getting look as the business tariffs as you get unlimited data (fair use) rather than 500mb.

500mb is more than enough for you to read the news online, check emails and hotukdeals for hours every day.

The only time you would need more than 500mb is when you watch movies online, stream audio and/or video online and download. If you dont do any of these daily then 500mb will provide more than enough hours for you to surf online.

Yeah that's easily enough for what you want.

Hi GAVINLEWISHUKD, can anybody get business tariff? Is there any restrictions? I've seen they ask for a company's name.

Fair use is 500Mb that's what they stated to me the other night. They only inforce it if you regularly go over it.

yes should be enough I'd say.

Looking over my usage I think the most I've previously used in a month is around 456MB, still prefer the peace of mind with unlimited usage with O2.

Yes, just make a name up, I use the same one with all my business accounts that I set up.

Yes but on consumer products you get warnings and then they cut your transmission speed. Business customers just get the business team phone you to sell you additional products, which you politely say you'll look into (then never do!).

tbh, i use msn on my phone 5 times a week, and i use the net quite a lot too and last month i only used 77mb (blackberry bold 9700)
