Are there any sound technicians or people knowledgable with setting up sound systems here?

i have a new 5.1 system and i need advice on speaker positions!

main questions are how far apart should the FL, CENTER, FR be?

what hight should all 5 speakers be positioned

and

should i/can i mount the RL and RL on the ceiling considering that they'll be pretty much overhead (i.e. not behind) from the cental seating position

Set up guidance from Dolby.

I already checked that which explains some of it, however, it doesnt specify if i'd be ok ceiling mounting the rears.

As a rule front speakers should be around ear height as you're sat watching the TV and rear speaks should higher than that and slightly behind you. The recommended distance between the speakers depends on your viewing distance, you should be able to work it out with a bit of Trigonometry.
