6yr Olds New Mountain Bike Challenge

    Banned
I'm looking for a 20" or 18" frame. According to my boy it must have 'Gears', 'Suspension' and "A bell' (I can add the bell if necessary!)

I've found this at Amazon, but can anyone beat.

I've got until September so no rush

Anyone been able to beat it yet?

My guess is that a 20" bike would be too big for a 6 years old (unless he is very confident). Have you actually been to a store and tried for size?

I would strongly not reccoment a cheap bike with full suspensions, first it wont last 5 minutes and second it will be very heavy.

Also is £50 your budget? If so you can find some good second hand ones or if you can afford a bit more you can get a real bike that will last him 2-3 years.

Yeah he's very confident and all his friends have 20" that he constantly rides

His last bike we gave him March this year and he already wants a new one  I'm dont want to spend out £100's on a bike that he is going to use for probably 6 months to a year tops. He throws it on the ground and likes doing skids and wheelies, so its very much a utility bike.....if you catch my drift

My budget would be up to £100 maybe £150 if I knew he would look after it........but he wont, so cheap as chips ta.

Thank you very much for your tips though, rep given

be careful of cheap bikes from dealers/brands you no nothing about, cheap bikes have god awful gears and supension (i've experienced both) so i'd advise second hand or a decent make which has been reduced in price, rather than one from a company you dont know about

Thank you my friend, I think he'll just be glad to not be the only one that doesn't have gears

Do you know if I bought him an adult frame he would try to ride it
