A strange one this. We have some 8mm video cam tapes, from a [very very] old video camera. I was wondering if there was a way to watch or convert these, without the camera, cos the camera is broken! Big big rep added for help, cos these tapes are priceless to me. Thanks

Yes it is [or was] a Sony camcorder. How did you convert yours to DVD, cos I think my uncle might have the same [working] camera...

I have the 'jacks' with a scart connection, this plugs into the dvd recorder, simples:thumbsup:

I was going to sugest buing a camera off ebay that will play them
should be cheap enough and cheaper than paying someone to convert them...
and doing it yourself with either a DVD recorder or through your PC

thanks for the tip!

I very much doubt its existence, but a USB converter would be so useful!
