£9.50 my foot

I've done the Sun holidays for the last couple of years but always with parkdean. This year we've got the Devon Cliffs Haven Park which I believe is a good site. I've just got a bill for the Power, Linen and Entertainment passes and it comes to £75.80!

The original booking was only £38.00 and I know I don't HAVE to have the entertainment passes but with 2 kids it's a necessary evil.

Does anyone have experience with getting this reduced?

No. I'm asking for assistance if someone has expirience of getting the cost reduced. I have not been charged this much before.

But thanks for the constructive input.:whistling:

I just dont seem to remember paying this much extra with Parkdean. I'nm hoping it's because the park is so great.

A friend did suggest not taking out the linen option as everytime they have done this the linen is still left there anyway, but last thing I want to do is turn up and find I've been the exception to the rule:roll:

entertain the kids yourself...

Lol, that's the first 20 mins dealt with

TBH I enjoy socialising with the other parents whilst the kids are playing/dancing at the evening events. I'm not saying I don't want the passes etc just seems a bit pricey in comparison to other years. There's a recession on, or don't they know ;-)

I'm not overly bothered about the linen cost but if I'm getting ripped for the power, it may be to only saving I can make.

We do the Sun Holiday deals every year and yes the initial cost is £38 for up to 4 people then you get another bill for all the extras! I always ring up and cancel everything except the essentials (power!) and get another bill much reduced. This does mean however that you'll need to take you're own linen but they do provide pillows and duvets it just means take your own sheets and pillow cases not the whole thing!
Hope this helps! We've got South Bay near Torquay this year as we missed out on Devon Cliffs apparently!

I think the entertainment and linen is reasonable, the power is a joke though

I did that too. When we got to site they asked how many passes we wanted and just gave them without charging:-D

the daily record haven deal was a bit more straightforward-no tokens to collect, just called the number, quoted the code and 4 nights for 20 quid each inclusive of everything-power,linen,entertainment and a free upgrade to superior accomodation.

how many nights do you get for the suns 9.50 deal?

we go to butlins on it and always ring them to remove the entertainment passes as u dont need them when u get there, then again total for 2 adults and 2 kids is £91

The Exmouth site is a really good site and at £100 it is a bargain if you look at their website prices. However know what you mean - they advertise a holiday for £38 for 4 and in the end it always comes out at around the £100. I think i would prefer it if they said £25 per person all in!!

I live in Exmouth - so if you want some ideas of what's on send me a pm with how old your kids are. Debs x

is this for a week?

Oddly enough we are the reverse. Tend to eat out alot and only use the caraven/chalet as a overnight base. If it wasn't for showers and tea/toast in the morning I don't think we'd use £5!
But we do use the entertainment passes every night as we're sociable bunch (who enjoy a beer)

This is why they'll end up getting me every year It may seem pricey for the passes and the power but overall it's reasonable I suppose (still swear I never paid this much last year:?)

Anyway, too late now, but next year I'll be phoning direct to make sure it's the best deal available.

You dont need the linen take your own, they still supply duvets and pillows the £14 is just for the covers !. ring up and they will take it off
