    A cheap bush please

looking where to buy 150-200 beech plants to create a bush / hedge as cheap as poss.
I'm fed up of the fence keep blowing down.
Will consider other types, but not hawthorn as we have 5 cats and don't want to attract the birds more than necessary.

I got mine from ebay from a seller called ladybird_mad

They are based in Scotland called Scot Plant

Highly recommended, all mine arrived perfect and all rooted

I had a mature beech hedge and the birds loved nesting in it- a nightmare with the cat! also got to be hard work keeping it to a reasonable height and maintaining it. Twice a a year with the hedge trimmer and if you left it for a year then it was a chainsaw job. Understand the problems with a fence but just thought I would let you know.

    Thanks for the advice.
The way our houses are situated causes a wind-tunnel effect, thus everyone in our road that has errected a fence has problems wth posts and panels being blown down.
I see it as a hedge is our only alternative to maintain some privacy and not upsetting neighbours with fence panels in their garden.
I don't mind spending time with plants, trimming and pruning - rather that than proping up fence posts, etc.

Rep to you both and anyone else with more idea are most welcome......

In Spring, you could just take loads of cuttings from your neighbors Privet hedge, as long as there is no frost and you stick them in the ground with some rooting compound, they generally root :-)

There you go a hedge for free
