I am looking for a car for a grand or less, wondered if anybody had any good suggestions?? Been looking at Peugeot 106s around 2001/2002.

Still young so would need to be in low insurance bracket.

Sunny Bognor Regis on the south coast

Vauxhall Corsa 1.0 12V Envoy 3dr 17 miles from PO21 1QE (this postcode is from 10 station road, Bognor Regis)

Low Insurance, low tax, only 72,101 miles, 6 disc CD player fitted (non factory). Serviced yearly over last 4 years of ownership. Ideal first car. MOT to July 2010 and taxed to Jan 2010.

plus point it's been serviced every year since this owners had it, but check the paper work, plus long(ish) MOT, and the tax and insurance should be cheap.
other checks, tyres, exhaust, open the hood and open the oil cap and make sure their is no white fluid in with the oil.

Pug 106 are a good car for the money, diesels are excellent. Had 60+mpg out of mine when I had one and insurance was really low too. Mine was an older one so didn't have power steering - look for one WITH power steering!!!!!!!

Thanks for the link mate, would be willing to spend a little nearer the grand for electric windows and power steering if possible though.

How bout Citroen Saxo ?? same car as 106 but usually a bit cheaper.

searches made from this postcode again PO21 1QE

saxo's on link below

search.autotrader.co.uk/es-…SED

again, i got these from autotrader.co.uk

their are other site like:

exchange and mart
pistonheads
i think gumtree couldhelp, never used it.
...and remember the free paper you get in most petrol garages, if you dont see it ask the guy behind the counter, somtime their can be some bargains in them.

btw the link i got from you didnt work. if you wanna send it again i'll see if it works and have a look.

I just bought Ford fiesta 1,25l,for £1000,very low mileage full service history, excellent condition and insurance group 6..I am very pleased and would reccommend it to you.Don't buy 1.0l micra or saxo, cos they are weak cars and you will need to push them up the hill if you have few passengers in a car, stick to slightly bigger engine (1.2,1.3) and low insurance.
