A good external HDD (PORTABLE)

Hi

I am in need of a portable external HDD but I know nothing about them. Just need it for my backing up some work. I don't need anything over 1TB.

I have a MacBook Pro that uses USB C. So that would be helpful, but I do have a dongle with it so it can accept the normal USB 3.0.

I was looking at this:
wdc.com/en-…tml

But it seems like it's the same as:
wdc.com/en-…tml

But on the MAC one they're charging £10 for the USB C - USB B cable? I already have these cables.

If it's work do you you need a hdd, wouldn't a flash drive be large enough?

No mate, my work files are massive
I'd go for an ssd with an external enclosure that supports your native connection type.

yea done that mate, do the enclosures encrypt the data at pcb point
Hard drives are effectively generic, there's not a lot to separate them. A lot of it is value added stuff like a Type B to C instead of the more common B to A cable.

Not that I know of, the operating system should do that if you have 10 pro. It's a good thing because the enclosures are normally the weak point in the chain.
