A Public Apology To My 11 year Old Son! :(

With the rising cost of food and trying to stick to a budget, we had a little family meeting to discuss the problems of wasting food in the bitsey household, you know, the usual......half eaten bags of crisps, biscuit tin lid left off resulting in soft biccies, lids left off pop bottles, food not being covered up before going back in the fridge etc.
My youngest, this morning, poured himself a huge bowl of rice krispies and then complained they tasted "funny" and left the whole lot! I ranted and raved about our previous nights discussion and sent him to his room. I have just made myself a cuppa and realised the milk he had used was dated the 8th May! How bad do I feel!!!!
So to Elliot, my apologies and you may now have free reign of the xbox for the rest of the afternoon!

nothing worse than doing that with cereal, well maybe eating half a sandwich/toast and noticing mould on the other half

I think you should go to the market square on thursday at 12pm and announce a public apology.

    :giggle:

You may feel that times are getting hard so please watch this program, you may find some inspiration from your granny's generation. I particularly liked the dashing debonair hats made from winchester carpet.

I remember my Mum forcing my sister to put on some trousers that she hated and always made a fuss about not wanting to wear.

She was screeming this particular thime that they where hurting her to put on. My Mum forced her to put them on - turned out there was a wasp in them!!

Now that just down right cruel!!! :w00t:

Reminds me of the time I was enjoying my wispa bar. Nearly half way through it, I noticed the bottom half totally covered in green mould. Puked right away and never had one since.

For what it's worth, sour milk is one of my phobias. I would never drink any after 48 hours of purchase. You should consider yourself lucky your son doesn't report you to the relevant authorities, lol.

I remember in my younger days of wild parties and very late nights that in a drunken stupor i headed to the fridge and knocked back a mouthful of milk from the party hosts fridge, it had turned to something that i can only describe as cottage cheese and I spent the rest of the night with my head down the toilet!
    Oh sweet memories! http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/midi/ekelig/g035.gif

That's the same as me - I thought I was the only one! Even if it's in date I won't have it if it's been in my fridge for more than a couple of days. And I won't have it if there is only a quater or so in the bottle - whatever the date!:-D

]Lakeland do a fizzkeeper that works brilliantly. you screw it onto the top of your pop bottle (instead of the cap) and use the pump to pump air into the bottle. This stops the gas from escaping from the fizzy liquid, as there is nowhere for it to go. It works a treat and can keep a 2lt bottle fizzy for ages (up to two weeks in our house). It means you can have a few different flavours on the go at the same time and you don't have to throw any of them out after two day due to them being flat!!!
