    A romantic break away

Guys need some help with finding places to take the missus away for her birthday!

We are trying to save for a house so we are looking for a cheap deal but it doesnt necessarily have to be cheap but it helps!

Anyway apart from the usual Rome, venice blah blah blah, what places would you recommend in this country?
Nice hotels with plenty to see and do in the surrounding area would be great and only a few days.

    Any suggestions??!!!!

    Thanks in advance!

Have you thought about the Norfolk broads?

Lake District? Peak District? Scotland? Depends where you are and what she's into.

Missus and I have had some fantastic breaks, log fires, four posters, lovely local food.

I am in south wales and we have to go during half term in February due to teacher holidays etc etc.

Also been to prague but open to all suggestions.

i am waiting for something to crop up on travelzoo!!

I just thought on the deals section there has been a log cabin holiday place advertised a couple of times, that sounds like it would be very romantic, we were thinking about it for this year, but saving to get married!

Me and the wife went here last February.

Not the cheapest but it is rated one of the best hotels in the world.

2 nights 5* accom in Wales's only Michelin starred restaurant including dinner and breakfast both nights for £300 all in. When you work it out that's £75 each per night including meals. The food is out of this world, the service is fantastic and it's only down the road from you between Chepstow and Monmouth with some fantastic scenery around and about and places to visit.

We loved it, I would recommend it to anyone :-D

would 2nd lake district - we've been here for the last two years ]http//ww…uk/

this sounds lush, is this the midweek offer though?

Try the Creiff Hydro just north of Edinburgh.

Me and OH really enjoyed Lake WIndermere, depends when you are going as it may be cold for a wee while yet.

Yes, this midweek, but I was thinking the OP said it would be during school hols, so midweek should be fine.
