    A Sad time right now

Have just found out that one of our cats has been killed :-( I assume, hit by a car. A bloke came to the door, asking if we had cats, (We had 2, now only 1:-( ) I went to take a look, and unfortunately, yes it was. The bloke had found it.

I am upset, but not that strongly, as Im not a great lover of cats, but I am still sad...my 4 year old daughter is very upset as well as my girlfriend...at the moment, he is in a black bag in the bin cupboard. What is the process of disposal of animals?:?

Could someone please help me with this...thanks...

Oh hun I am So sorry to hear about that :-(

I honestly can't help with the..umm... disposal side of things :-(

Would suggest burying in the Garden, if only to help the youngster (hope that doesn't come across wrong)...

Other than that, maybe call a vet and see what they would suggest.

Awww thats terrible, Thats a lovely looking cat and a really nice colour to :-(

We buried our cat in the garden when it died, Not sure how its done otherwise.

They'll most likely arrange to have it picked up (much like old fridges etc)...

Sorry to be sounding insensitive btw, it's all in the typing.

Vet would probably incinerate for a smallish fee. Could tell the little one it's a cremation.

Sorry for your loss birdy :-( - have a hug :friends:

so sorry to hear that mate...had a similar experience a few years back when my gorgeous grey fluffball was killed ont road...knock on the door thought it was a postal delivery as it was a Post Office van...but it was to report that he had hit my cat as it run into the road...at least he had the respect to report it to me.

Have another cat now ..that for some reason will not go near the road..in fact it did not go out of the house for the first 18 months of her life.

Yes mine has a grave int garden.

He matches your sofa .... could get him stuffed?

Lost a kitty when I was younger in the same way. Maybe bury him in the garden and get your daughter to make a headstone?

Bury it somewhere nice in some secluded countryside where you won't get disturbed digging a small grave. Sorry for your loss :-(

Maybe its not the time to ask, But what type of cat is he?

Ensure it is not serial killer territory however!

Very sad news indeed. Any time I've experienced any type of bereavement, it was way harder than I thought it would be.

If you do bury Ash, place a flat bit of wood (or similar) on top of the body and then place a boulder on top of that, then bury with soil as per. This will prevent Ash being dug up by foxes. I had to do this last year.

Like other comments, I hope my suggestion doesn't sound emotionless. :-(

A vet in your area will do the necessary. sorry to hear. i love animals:-(

sorry for your loss.. most vets will be able to help you out for a small fee think the council idea is a bit harsh on the little one can imagine them coming to collect Ash in there council van....

i as a child, used to live where dead carcasses were placed in incinerators and every monday was cat and dog day. it was horrible seeing the wagons coming up the road. nowadays they have to cover them up:-(

Contact the vet birdy if you havn't already when my cat got knocked down they took him for free if I was happy for him to be incinerated with other animals. They also offered to cremate him seperatly and return the ashes but that was going to cost upwards of £150.
Sorry you little ones so upset I was gutted when Milo was killed

Sorry to hear of your loss birdy. :-(

So sorry to hear of your loss Birdy :-(

If you have photograph of Ash perhaps your daughter could place a posy of flowers next to it?

sorry to hear about your loss, birdyboyuk.
