AA - MOT & Servicing - Any Good?

Anyone had any good or bad experiences with AA?

They look a little expensive, but i after a quality/reliable service.

Ive also been a AA member for about 20 years now, should they offer a discount?

and does anyone know if you still get your book stamped for interim servicing?

    Thank you.

Just to add; the car i have is a 2005 Vauxhall Astra - 5dr Hatchback with a 1.6i petrol engine; which has about 45,000 miles on the clock.

Blimey just done a quote £260 for a service is very very expensive

Have you not thought about servicing your vehicle yourself ? The Astra's and most Vauxhall's are quite easy to service in terms of changing spark plugs , oil and filter changes etc .The parts are reasonably priced from the dealers . I've owned 3 early Astra's .............MkI , MkII,MkII and curently own a Vectra 2.0DI and Astra 1.6[16V] and do all my own servicing . I simply dont trust the local garages after hearing of some horror storys of mechanics making mistakes and charging for work and parts they haven't done .I've always bought the Haynes manuals for the vehicles I've owned but now have the details for cars and servicing on CD .
