    Aaaaagggghhh - new Attic Hatch

Whilst I was away we had some building work done to our house. The builder installed a new attic hatch - thing is I need to access the attic for the first time tonight but cant open it! So frustrating!!

It's got a small circle hole in the door with two plastic ridges running down the centre of the hole - does anybody know how to correctly open it?

Push the plastic ridges? Only a guess

    Squeeze the ridges together?

Phone the builder and ask him possibly....

It'd be easier to make a suggestion if you could perhaps post a pic?

Do the ridges not move at all? Have you tried turning them 90 or 180 degrees?

stick a pic up for us to see.......if you find an old picture of you as a child in the attic that you though had been destroyed in a fire then start to worry

Did you use the builder O'Riely like Basil Fawlty by any chance?

yeah I know them .. white van cowboys :x

You should have a metal tool, about 2-3 foot long and L shaped the longest end will fit in the slots. Give it a turn and the hatch will unlock.

But a large screwdriver would do the job.

    Does it look like this?
