ANYBODY HAVE OR HAVE HAD A MERC A Class CDI or similar.

I am thinking about getting one of these as they appear to be extremely economical.

I have however been getting a few mixed reviews from people about reliability and running costs.

Others have said that they are really reliable.

One chap I spoke to said the engine had to be emoved for some quite simple maintenance tasks - worrying.

Anybody have any first hand experience please?

Thanks

Hi

I have a CLK not the A class but for some good reading and research, here's a good forum:

]Mercedes Club

Lots of info about all Mercedes. Don't forget, though, that most people only post problems, not reliability charts, so don't assume that your car will get all the faults listed :-D:-D

I work with mercedes every day, A class would be one of the not so good cars produced by mercedes. Going for the CDI model is a better idea than the petrol as the petrol engine gives bother with the air mass meter, which can cost up to £1000 to replace as it is built into engine management control unit. Come MOT time the rear radius arms give bother which are costly to replace. My advice - steer clear
