We use Greenflag - never had any problems with them. Don't know about any deals through them but may be worth a look.

You can compare here:

and don't forget cashback sites like Quidco: ]http//ww…own

I've used Green Flag and Direct Line, both of them offer competitive pricing but never called them out so can't say if they are any good or not.

thankyou both but i dont know how to add h+r lol any advice ?

there's no heat to add as this isn't a deal but if you click on those little scales by a profile pics you can add to a reputation. You need to be logged in to do it.

:-)

I've got my RAC via quidco for around £35 with £21 cashback = £14 for the year

autoaidbreakdown.co.uk/

Been recommended on MSE for years, far superior cover to the Rac / AA, but you have to pay for any claims upfront and claim back - so may not be ideal present.

i used firstcallmotorbreakdown.co.uk/
They were ideal and cheap when I had my unreliable lotus
I have also heard that ADAC offer a good deal for European breakdown cover. They are the German AA but are far cheaper than the UK.

Only ever time I had to call out a breakdown service was when I was with the AA (flat battery), and never had any problems. Helpful on the phone and helpful orange van man

AA has yellow vans. RAC vans are orange.
