You say that. But we are going to Dublin in June just for one night before heading up north. Finding a cheap hotel in the centre is impossible. You have to settle for the outskirts of the city making sight seeing really awkward. And getting back to your hotel after a night out to.

So I found this hostel called Globetrotters. It has private bedrooms on offer with ensuite bathrooms. They cost £40 per person per night and you get a full Irish breakfast thrown in. By the sounds of the reviews this is no ordinary hostel. So we're foregoing the luxury of a hotel for location. Plus many hostels I've stayed in before are just as nice as most cheap hotels. You even get sky tv and tea and coffee in the private rooms in Globetrotters

PM me next month and I'll let you know how it was. In fact if you PM me just before we go then I'll take some pictures for you.

try travelodge.... probably one of the cheapest you will get...

You havent booked a free flight with ryanair by any chance???

travelodge at the airport is €79

Tried travelodge, but its miles away from the centre. By the time you pay taxis etc, you may aswell pay the extra couple of quid and be in the centre.

Was just about to add to my post about Globetrotters when I noticed mentions of travel lodge's and Ibis's. Having stayed at both before I will guarantee that the Globetrotters is better even before I've seen it.

    Here's there website.

But then maybe you don't want to be near younger travellers?

We're going to Dublin during May half term and paying £114 for Jurys Christchurch for 1 room, 4 peeps, bed and breakfast for 1 night.

Well if you are looking to stay in the city centre in a hotel, the days inn on talbot street is nearly always the cheapest. I know it can be booked through laterooms.com for about £50 per night per room.

Talbot street is very central and within walking distance of pretty much all the attractions in Dublin.

oh yeah i cant stress enough how central this hotel is!

The Dublin Skylon isn't a bad hotel! According to the spec on Ryanair's website, it is 2 and a half miles from Temple Bar.

And the price is £114.90 for the 2 nights you have specified!

I'm gonna be their from the 8th til the 11th myself!

If anyone stumbles accross any great prices for 2 people 20th Sept - 24th Sept, please let me know!

Might just leave it then try priceline with a few days to go, if I can;t get anywhere will have only lost the 4p (or was it 8p) on the flights!!

    Hi All

If anyone can get a room £50 a night or less for these 4 nights (Leave on 24th) central that would be ace, can find a few but the weekend nights seem to be twice or three times the price!

    Cheers
