Accomodation to let over Christmas 6 bedrooms +

We've recently found out that my dad is really ill and we'd love it if we could rent some where for over Christmas, just for a few days so we could all be together on Christmas morning. I'm saying 6 bedrooms but we could maybe get away with four. I know my sister and her family would like to come but I've not put this idea to my two brothers yet.

Think we're going to be up against it though as I'm sure any where decent that is not too expensive will already booked up.

Ideally it needs to be in the North West as I don't think my dad could travel too far.

Any ideas folks? I realise we could stay in a hotel but really it needs to be a home away from home so dad feels comfortable.

There are some Travelodges in the Manchester area from £19 per night for xmas eve. Would that be ok ? If so www.travelodge.co.uk & search manchester area

two of my favourite places in UK... both within 10 miles of each other, but North West as you say and just off the M6

Thanks folks. I'll take a look at your suggestions.

I have always found these two websites really east to use and have some good properties available, renting a house for Chistmas is a really good idea to bring far flung family together, we did it a couple of years ago and had a great time. Hope you and your dad have a great Christmas:

PS: Ignore the advice of others about spending Xmas in a Travelodge, what a awful idea!!

it wouldnt be my first choice:oops: but depends on budget. If you find a cottage not booked you may be lucky and get a discount? best wishes

I'm not sure how far north, north you want - is Lincoln any good? We had a large group stay at this cottage which sleeps 20 and has a pool. Very nice place. www.athinacottage.co.uk
Good luck - I hope it all goes well for you and your family.

OP said NORTH WEST. I aint sure Lincoln is NW m8

Try YHA 'escape to'. It seems some hostels are still available for sole use over the xmas period at 20% off. The website mentions Eskdale. Any good? Others seem to be available too. Hope you get sorted.

Sorry my geography isn't as good as yours m8! I was just making a suggestion as the OP might have considered the distance - I'm not sure he stated where he actually was located. Anyway, it's north as far as I can relate - everything from here is just plain North....:whistling:

lol its ok mate

if the OP can let us know where they end up that would be great
