Hiya,

I've got an accordion that I bought in a second-hand shop a few months ago.

Wanted to take up playing it, but it's too heavy for me to hold for long, hehe!

I want to sell it, then, but I don't know a thing about it, really. Can anyone offer me any advice?

It's got Sorrento written on it, and looks pretty old. Anyone have any idea where they were made, and what time period it would be from?

It's a 120 bass piano accordion (looked this up on the web, hehe!), and has 11 buttons on it that change the sound of the piano keys.

Above the 120 little black buttons (chords?) there are two flapper buttons that don't appear to do anything... anyone know what they are?

Any idea how much this would be worth?

Photos will appear in posts below. Any help would be much appreciated!

Take it back to where you bought it.

Seems a bit daft buying it if you knew absolutrely nothing about it.

Isn't that the point in most things? Most things we buy are an impulse buy.
Which is why we're on this forum I believe?

Great advice(!)...Er... I bought it to play it? I can play piano, so thought i'd give it a try...

But like I say - it's too heavy for me to play for long...

Anyway... anyone with any 'helpful' advice would be appreciated

Have you tried sitting down and leaning it against your knee? I've seen the people around town doing that.

Yea... I can play a few tunes, but I'm only 5' 2" and it's just too big...(I can barely see over the top of it when I'm sitting down, hehe!)
I could do with getting a smaller one, to be honest....

Nice looking thing too , I just love the sound of the accordion .Know nothing about them though .
Stick with it m8 , and learn to play !

Best bet is sell it on fleabay with a description of "I don't know much about it except it's in full working condition"

Then buy a smaller one on there.

Yea, that was the plan, but I thought I'd see if anyone could shed any light on a few things for me first - I like to give the full facts if possible... for example, I don't know whether those two black buttons near the chord buttons are working, as I don't know what they're supposed to do! Doh! ;-) I don't notice any difference soundwise...

Yeah like buying a car when you have no idea about driving.
Or maybe a hot air balloon.

Somethings are an impulse buy others are not.

Anyone know where i can buy a tiger !!

I didn't say everything, did I? Unless I'm mistaken I said most things.
I bought a random guitar once, just to mess around with.

And alot of learner drivers do buy cars ready for when they pass:)

Hehe! Well I could do that when I first got it.... and I can pretty much still only do that!

Naa... I've managed to get a couple of tunes out of it, but once I find out all the info about what's what with it, I'll get it sold.

Like I say, being 5'2" and a female with little arm muscles, it's just too heavy for me to play for long! hehe ;-)

Hi, how much do you want for the accordion?

Just reviving this from the dead, as I'm going to be selling very shortly... can anyone offer any advice as to what it's worth, and what those 'flapper' buttons are for?!

Many thanks,
