Activity ideas for Ashbourne, Peak District?

Found 28th Jun 2009
Hi, going on holiday to Ashbourne in the Peak District. Does anyone know of any good places to visit in the area? I have an 18 month old daughter so recommendations of play places etc for small children would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Isn't it near Alton Towers? Other than that watch the motorbikes on the twisties along the Ashbourne Road (one of the UK's most dangerous stretches!!).
Sorry I don't know but try registering here for ideas and discount codes:…ode
Crich Tramway village a good day out for kids, also Chatsworth House & Farm. Have a look round for vouchers free admission usually a few kicking around.
If you're going in term time (only certain dates) try Alton Towers as they do a parent and toddler rate, never been as it's a bit too far away for us but saw it advertised recently and thought it was a fab idea.…er/

It's £12 for one adult and toddler and includes parking (usually £5) and a drink so a really good price.
Ashbourne area is lovely
Thanks to you all for your suggestions, given me some good ideas!
