Add speakers to back of CRT TV

The CRT TV in our bedroom has sockets like you get in the back of a HiFi. Does this mean we could plug hifi speakers into get a 'surround' sound?

The TV was very good in its time and has dolby 3D surround.

I will check when I get home.
Having checked around the google route there seems to be a bit of confusion over whether the speakers will work 'as is' or will need some kind of amp. i may just borrow some speakers and see if they work before investing in anything decent!

I have had 2 tvs with outputs for hi fi speakers, one just needed plain speaker wire inserted and the other needed clips that I got for 30p each from local hi fi shop so yes some tvs have them.

Look at the back of it, or look at the manual. As a general rule though, if the connections are there, it's possible.
