I seem to remember this dirty trick policy being outlawed? It's only £10 but still a complete rip off.

Standard really. A few years ago I moved 200 metres and my car insurance went up by a third.

car insurance is very confusing. when i was looking round for quotes, i found the premium was cheaper if i said we park our car on the street rather than we park our car on our drive :/, i would have thought it would have worked the other way round if at all.
How is it a trick? You would have been informed in your policy documents that any change of details will result in an admin fee.
They're allowed to make 'reasonable administrative charges' for such things. £10 is reasonable.
If it was for car or home insurance they need to reevaluate the risk, make new documents and send them out. £10 seems reasonable!
wow who would have thought that insurance companies want to make profit
