I am seeing many ads on the BBC website even though I am in the UK. Is anyone else seeing them and are in the UK?

What dodgy proxy server are you going via?
Eh?
Not seeing and have never seen an advert on the BBC site.
No dodgy proxy server, I am on virgin, using a Belkin wireless router to connect internet to my PC.
I am seeing certain words being highlighted, if you put your mouse over these words, you see ads. For example, the word injury had ads for injury claims companies.
screendump?
Post a specific page link for us to test.

I'm on Virgin too.

But when I've finished with her, I'll take a look.

This has ads on the word injury and on the word back-up.
Are you sure you are in the UK?

Nothing appears for me.

Try another browser to see if it is replicated.
You have some sort of adware installed. Run Spybot S&D, install MSE, and stop installing adware on your computer.
Adware.

I have the same Jaysex - adverts appear occasionally - and key words on several websites become highlighted ... and when hovered over, they show an ad.

It is caused by "text-enhance"
and is basically adware.

MSE did nothing for me - nor did spybot search & destroy.

I did about 100 different "fixes" on the internet for it and it seems to have gone away for now - but i'm not sure which was the trick. It is extemely difficult to get rid of for myself at least

Thanks for that. I removed an add on on Firefox called software assist and now the ads are gone.
