Advice for Bristol trip

Found 27th Jan 2009
Hi there,

I am thinking of taking the missus for a break to Bristol during the last weekend in March. It is the the most economical place to get a flight to from Guernsey.

Does anyone know where the cheapest place to stay is and how far the airport is to the town centre.

Really just after some general advice about the place.

Cheers
Paul

The airport is a bit of a way from the town centre but you can get buses from there...
There are plenty of cheap hotels to choose from near the town centre or more cheaper near the train station, temple meads.

If possible do not go to Bristol at all............ IT IS LIKE IRAQ

eh? Bristols alright mate!

Bristol's lovely......that's why I live here

Bristol Airport has a trasin station doesn't it? Isn't it easy to get into town from there?

Bristol is ok, but why not head north from Bristol Airport, to Cheltenham? Cheltenham is really nice, and loads of good cheap hotels.

Personally I'd be tempted to head to Ireland, Galway if you can fly there? Best city in these fair Isles.

Cider festival incl hog roast this weekend......yummy

Taxi transfer from the airport is about £25-30 but there are buses for a few quid that run on a regular basis.

Premier Inn by the bus station with restaurant underneath thats alright or cheap hotels neat Temple Meads but I'd stay near the bus station as you're near Cabot Circus, Clifton, Harbourside etc
