Advice for new year hobby/Career

Hello,

I am really interested in learning to be a web designer and I am not too sure whether it is possible to do an online course or is college best?

Any thoughts or advice would be great.

Thank you very much and I hope you all had a Great xmas

seems a bit of research is needed about your local college course as first stop to me.
then compare to online course.

There are lots of websites that teach you different languages and design techniques. www.w3schools.com is a good site but only teaches how to code websites in different languages.

Although design is an aspect you mainly need to lean how to code and you will be on your feet.

Most sites either use PHP or ASP.Net - read about them and see if either take your interest.

i taught it all myself and currewntly working towards a career

www.w3schools.com is the best place to learn

learn html, then css then javascript, once ya handy with them, move onto scripting languages like php & asp

I am not detracting from anyone who has built a site using their knowledge of scripts and codes but there are many other ways to build sites without much knowledge. Site Spinner for instance was one I used years ago for a web I had at the time. Drag n drop and lots of facilities to tweak whatever you wanted by easy means.

These are deffo the best steps forward. This is how I taught myself. You may find Adobe Dreamweaver a useful tool in web development. It will make you life a lot easier.
