Advice needed: Learning to Drive Books

Have been advised to get a book on learning to drive, just so I can go over stuff when not at lesson. Either one that does theory and practical, or one of each.

Only problem is, there are hundreds of them and I am wondering which ones are any good.

Advice wanted on ones that you know are useful/easy to follow.

Price doesnt matter

The best way is to get real practice....nothing beats experience

I bought my partner one off eBay and its called the official DSA complete learner pack. It comes in a boxset with 3 discs,2 are dvds and 1 is a cd rom. I also bought him off Amazon a HighWay Code book along with something else so I didn't pay delivery.
I paid about £18 inc postage for the DSA pk if you did a Kelkoo they a fair bit more, and the Highway Code books are about £1.99.

Thanks, I am having a 2 hour lesson every week, and will be practicing in dads car after 1/2 more lessons (only had 6 so far), as not needing much prompting now.

Still been advised to get a book though, incase there are things I want to check on, save me having to wait until next lesson. Also help me get up to scratch for theory (already have the computer disc for theory)

Its taking forever I wish he hadn't started, been at it since October,I'm hoping he ready soon,he takes 2hrs once a week too.

Just wait until they buy the wheels, they'll be tugging at mum's purse for all the extras like alloys and a nice stereo not forgetting 4 figure insurance

I have only had 12 hours of lessons, and the first 2 were with a **** instructor and dont really count. They say it takes 45 hours before you are ready for your test. Has taken 6 weeks so far.

I got 10 hours of lessons as a birthday present, and am paying for the rest myself. I dont sponge off my parents. Just got a new laptop (other one broke) which they offered to buy but i said no because its not my bday or anything.

Well he had 1 hr free and since then we handed over 3 cheques of £240,they £20 per hr and the 3rd cheque almost run out,so in all he has had almost 37hrs anytime.Instructor said he be ready soon, hope so its dear.

So Kelly, that book up there any good, it is the most popular one and my colleague at work uses it, he has just taken his theory test

My lessons are £22 an hour (which is £1 cheaper than normal) and got 1 free. I am with BSM

BSM are franchised, it's why you pay more and their instructors are not necessarily better. The instructors lease the car.
Try word of mouth

Should be about £6 for the book if someone knows anywhere cheaper than Amazon

I agree with that, 1st one I had was awful!

The one I have now is brilliant for me though and I wouldnt swop her.

Would not recommedn BSM to others though, as dont think its worth paying the extra because you dont get better service. Wasnt my choice though, parents paid for first 10 and now I have a great instructor who I want to stick with
