Advice needed on which mobile phone & sim deal to take?

Found 7th Mar 2018
I am coming to the end of a EE contract and am looking to save some money and hope some suggestions can be made. I am a light user and so 2GB to 4GB data with lowish minutes (500) and texts (1000) being adequate.

I currently own a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which is more than adequate for what I do but has seen better days and probably needs replacing.

I am willing to take either sim only and buy a mobile (not iphone) up to about £150 or a take out a contract that gives me both if good value. Any suggestions as I can't get my head around comparison sites.

Thanks in advance.

Three less than £10 per month, unlimited mins, texts and 6gb data

Buy a sim free mobile outright, either 2nd hand from or new from Motorola

Three again.. Any of the Honor phones. Great value and quality. Get years out of them. Starting at £11 month for 6A, to this Honor 7X an absolutely brilliant phone for the money.
I would definitely buy a sim free mobile and then pair with a sim only deal...

You cannot go wrong with the new Redmi 5 plus 3/32GB for £115, highly recommened on HUKD

Then sim only:
plusnet 1000m, 2000 text, 2GB data for £7 a month (1 month contract)
Virgin 2500m, unltd text, 5GB data for £9 a month (12 month contract)
