Advice Needed Please: (RE: TOM TOM GO 520 SAT NAVS)

    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me some advice please. I am currently looking to buy another sat nav. I already have one, which I did a large amount of research on at the time, however there was one fundamental flaw that i did not think to look into, and that was a reset button. Now and again the device crashes and I cannot turn it off. The only way to reset it is to let the battery run out, which you can imagine is not brilliant when you are in the middle of nowhere!!!

So my first question is whether anyone can confirm that the Tom Tom Go 520 has a reset button? Thanks in advance :-)

I also have a few other questions about the sat nav generally, as from research I see there are 3 different versions available and I am not 100% clear on the differences. The questions I have are:

    What is the difference between:
    o Tom Tom 520
o Tom Tom 520 Music Edition? (Does this mean you can connect your iPod to this one but you cant to the 520 original or the 520 traffic?)
o Tom Tom 520 Traffic Edition?
Do you have to pay a subscription on the Traffic Edition to keep the updates coming through? If so is this expensive?
Cheapest I have found them is:
o 520 Music edition for £157 delivered at eBuyer
o 520 Traffic Edition for £179.99 delivered at eBuyer (are these good prices)

I think i have convinced myself that the Tom Tom Go 520 is the best one for me based on its features, but i just have those few questions above.

Thank you in advance to anyone that can help :-)

To reset your TomTom device, do the following:

    1. Check that the battery is charged properly.
Charge your device for at least 2 hours before trying to turn it on again. Make sure the charging light on your device is on.

    2. Reset your device.
Use a straightened paper clip, or something similar, to push the reset button for 15 seconds. See the pictures below for where to find the reset button.

    3. Turn your device on.
Press the On/off button for at least 5 seconds.

    Thanks dmtuk, rep added :-)

I think you get free updates for life with the Traffic Edition as my mate bought one last month. Think he got his off Amazon.
