Advice on British Passport, travelling to Florida USA May 2009, passport expires feb 2010?

As the above, I am travelling to Florida for two weeks in May (2009).

I have checked my passport and it expires Feb 2010. I have tried to check on the internet about how much America needs time on your passport before you enter.

Most websites you have to call a expensive number. Top of my head I think its min 6 months, but can anyone comment?

I know how US customs can be funny? (Bit worried to order one now and not get it before I leave (Early May 2009)

Any advice, comments welcome?

Thanks.

Contact the American Embassy?

Cool doing a search now for that.

Sorry, don't know for sure either but I did think 6 months too - not much help though I know:roll:

Isn't it six months from the date you will be entering the US?

I think they need to be machine readable as well.

It's six months from date of entry, although I think those from countries on visa waiver are 90days from date of entry (which UK is). Anyway, either way, your case is fine.

Yeah think it must be 6 months. Its not machine readable. Its the old one (2000)

Ahhh crap. Cheers, have to pay for a emergency one.

Cheers.

I'm sure it's 6 months Blanka.

To make sure, call one of the numbers here saynoto0870.com/com…php This link will give you the local rate numbers for the Passport Office instead of using the expensive 0871 you mentioned.

Hope this helps! :-D

PS - Just checked the link and it didn't work properly - click on "Search to Find an Alternative Number" and in the Company box, type Passport Office

When are you going? I'm going away in may so did my passport last month … When are you going? I'm going away in may so did my passport last month using the post office two week check and send, cost like £5 extra, it only took 4 days aswell, so I'd say if you have two weeks or more which you should do then just do that.

Thanks, that sounds the best idea, will pop to the post office today.

and remember you must fill in the online entry form now before travelling to america
