    Advice on cordless phones needed

Hi, I just bought these cordless phones:

    argos.co.uk/sta…htm

Thing is, I wanted to buy some additional handsets for this base. Do I have to have these exact same handsets for the additional handsets, or just any Philips ones?

And any suggestions where I can buy them from?

    Thanks.

In theory, if it is GAP compatible then you should be able to connect any GAP-compatible handset to it. However, some features (phone book copy or internal call transfer, for example) might not work.
Do remember that maximum number of handsets supported by DECT base varies and can be anything between 2 and 8, so check User Guide prior to purchase.

How do I find out if it's GAP compatible and could you possibly say that with some smaller words, lol.

Er... and I thought my English is bad - now you just confirmed it

Usually GAP compatibility is written in User Guide. Also, manufacturer should say how many handsets the base station (this is larger box, which is plugged to wall phone outlet :)) can support.

If I were you I would just go and buy one more kit of the same model (but read manual first! as you might have too many handsets!) - this way it will work for sure.

    Ok then, manual.

It has a section that says "Using GAP standard compliance" so I presume it is GAP compatible!

Ooh, and it says up to four handsets. It also says any non Philips handset is fine as long as its GAP compliant!

Ok, so now I need some cheap but fairly decent handsets!!

    Damnit, another double post.

Are those I posted above any good?

The one you posted above is another two handsets, one with AP I think. Ideally, I just want another couple of handsets with charging bases.

Er... so what? Just register handsets with your existing base and that's it. From my experience it is cheaper to buy two dual kits than one dual kit and two additional handsets.
