Advice on these PC pics please

Following on from my last PC help thread, I have ended up taking my PC apart and couldnt see what Im looking for or if anything is abnormal lol

The main problem with PC was a blue screen with a message IRQL-not-less-or-equal.
Did this loads of times, rebooted itself, Then after a night of this it now tries to reboot but wouldnt start the monitor, Was told could be lose graphics card, bad ram?

So Can anyone see what im looking for? Or can anyone point me in a direction to let me know what I can sell out of this machine to help make a tiny bit of money back to buy another tower please?

Try taking a stick of ram out and seeing if the error persists if it does try the stick you took out.

Hi, i would look at your sticks of ram. You have 2 of them parallel and close together standing upright on the main circuit board. They're held in by 2 locking tabs for each stick. They have numbers on including size, speed and make. These look like little circuit boards approx 3cm x 10cm. There are a few precautions you need to follow - google the safest way to remove pc parts. Once you have removed them, look for them on fleabay, ebuyer, aria etc. Hope this helps you.

if no video then its dead. sell the ram and processor-heatsink & fan, keep the hard drive as you have pictures on it

the rest is bulky and of no value

might make 30 quid, however I dont know what your spec is, perhaps if you know how much ram and what processor it was , i could tell more

it's not a loose graphics card, because there isn't one attached to that pc. when integrated graphics fail, you'll usually just get no picture on the screen. try what the people above me said

Ta all Im not 100% on ram and processors stats but can google the model number.

We have just tried 1 ram at a time and with either ram in it still didnt load up the monitor

Think its best I just put cover back on before I electrocute myself lol

As I suggested in the previous page, try one stick of ram at a time to rule out the other. Rarely ram will go faulty though

Random reboots and blue screens are more than common with new builds due to ram compatibility issues, or sticks that are DOA, rarely do they just go faulty in a working machine

A faulty hard drive is more common, or just a simple software conflict.

As I said earlier, if it is in anyway possible to get the machine to boot then tap f8 and try and get into system restore, restore and then if you still get the blue screen then it confirms a hardware fault

Or just bring it to someone, or kick it again

Edit :

Just read your post above, could be a faulty board Bet if you put your boards model number on ebay you would pick one up, its really not too hard to fit a new board.

You could also try a cheap video card, suppose it could end up being a head melter

Tried the 1 stick of ram at a time, no luck,
Could a Hard Disk Drive be a fault? as last time we had issues some guy at PC store said it was this and would cost £60 so we said no dont worry, but we managed a whole system restore and its worked again for a couple of months,

Cant get a boot up at all now

Think I may kick it tonight! it deserves it and the cover back on so no chance of it getting me back with electric shock lol :whistling:

Ta for your advice again, Im lost without my good old PC, this netbook dies too quick!

A Board as being that whole big board along the back of PC?:? Is that too much to repair if it is?

by the sounds of it, it sounds like it could either be a motherboard problem, or your hardrive (as u said something about a blue screen and also using system restore to resolve your problem). Try removing every none key thing, such as graphics card, sound card and use the onboard.

Well you can't sell any of it when you know something is faulty but not … Well you can't sell any of it when you know something is faulty but not what. And I'm not sure why you posted pictures, we're not magic, we can't guess the specs from that.Motherboards are only like £25.

as its got a side cooling trumpet, p4 or amd athlon, and xp home oem , which will throw a wobbly on a new motherboard

probably 1gb ram max, or maybe some weird mixture of 512 + something cruddy
