Advice on which Current account is best

    Hi all

Getting really annoyed with the halifax's £1 a day overdraft charges so have decided to move and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of a good current account.

I have a couple of grand overdraft limit but dont always use it so main thing for this account to have is a good overdraft charge

    Any suggestions would greatly help

    Overdrafts
For HSBC Premier customers, the first £500 of any overdraft is provided interest free
    Interest Rate

    £0 - £500 Interest free
Over £500 Typical 11.9% EAR variable

Sorry but you need to learn to bank properly first. Most accounts charge for going overdrawn, so stop doing it. Simples.

my advise is to try and get rid of the overdraft instead of looking for another.......where do you think the banks make their money? its from people like you with the charges youll incur and spending money that isnt yours

no such thing as a free overdraft

I am with Smile. Very happy with them. Customer service is fantastic.

If you ever have to call you get put straight through to someone too. You also have the added benefit of being able to go to the post office to be able to pay money in / withdraw cash free.

Try being my girlfriend with those folk.
Shes Bank of Scotland, who are the same folk.

She was about £50 overdrawn over xmas, then they bumped the charges up and decided to remove her overdraft facility without notifying her.
Unauthorised fee of £5 a day builds up pretty quickly when its not her main account so only checks it every week or two.

Don't FD do an interest free overdraft of £500?
