Advice please... Buying two of the same product and returning one?

Hello! I messed up placing an order and have an idea for what to do... I have a suspicion it's a dodgy plan and would appreciate some advice on whether it's a good idea or not

I ordered a camera on Amazon, and chose super saver delivery. It despatched today with royal mail and is estimated to arrive the 24th. After I ordered it (and too late to amend the order) remembered I'm going away on Sunday and would really like to have the camera by then. If I go and buy the same model camera at Currys and keep the receipt, open and use it... when the Amazon one comes can I then just grab their unopened one and return it to Curry's for a refund?

Very little sleep, hope that made sense!

    Cheers
    xx

OK unless their software tracks camera ID number

would it not be easier to send the amazon one back.

Just refuse delivery of the Amazon one. Or is it cheaper there, and you're trying to scam Curry's?

my guess is the amazon one is cheaper than the currys one

IMO It would be wrong to do it (as you probably already know) but harmless ... so what you really want is for us to give you approval to do something that is wrong but harmless! ?

Cheers for the replies... Yeah there's a £25 difference so it's dodgy to do... I posted wanting to know if it would work before deciding whether to try it or not. Interesting to hear people's take on the moral issue though as I've been fretting about cost and probably didn't give that element of it much thought as I should...

Do they do it in Argos - they seem to take anything back lol!!

Why go midle ground and reorder with express delivery and refuse the Monday delivery- should be there tomorrow and you won't have any stress or 2 lots of fuel going to Currys

    Supermod

Currys might refuse to take it back if it tracks on their system that you didnt buy the item from there. Surely, with technological advances, they will be able to show this?!

why do people keep suggesting that? it's just wrong refusing delivery of something you have orddered.

On what grounds do you refuse items?? oO

Can't you just return the Amazon one under the seven day distance selling regulations?

Just say it's too big or not the model you thought it was or something.
