    Advice regarding graphics card....

    Hi Guys,

    Just wanted to know something.

If I buy my gf a laptop with integrated graphics, will that be good enough to watch iplayer and DVD's? She doesn't play any games at all.

    Rep given for helpful advice....

It will be enough to watch all of the above, but as soon as you try and go anywhere near games, it will run away scared.

Thats what I thought. Cheers for that mate, rep given

just to kind of expand on Brooksie's post, integrated graphics in a laptop will be fine, as it will share memory from your laptops resources, with certain laptops this does give the potential for HDMI to be possible if you wish to connect said laptop to a HDTV.

But watching video through a VGA output will work just as well and the onboard graphics will at least play the important games like facebook farmville and other such online phenomenons.

only thing to look for is if and where possible, try and find a laptop with the highest "shared" memory used for the onboard/integrated graphics.
